Notes from Day One of tru2way Developer Conf.

Greetings from NOLA! The first day of the tru2way Developer Conference at NCTA 2008 is now history. I won't cover every panel nor panelist comments in detail (seen here: http://2008.thecableshow.com/Attending/Sessions.aspx) but I did want to cover a couple of the sessions, most notably the Advertising Applications session. The panelists discussed the key tenets of what works in interactive advertising on the web (automation, targeting, measurement, etc.) and how that is already being applied to television (in some cities) today, and will become increasingly more powerful on the road ahead. Not wanting to state the obvious, but Advanced Advertising is probably going to be the greatest fuel ever put in the tank of ITV, and the interest in it seems destined to only increase. And as Martha Stewart says, that's A Good Thing (for not only the platform, but for innovation and for developers).

One other quick note:

- the hands-on t2w developer lab was well attended - with demo workstations and STBs for the use of all who were there.

Day two begins! More when we have time.
