Governance

Oversight and leadership of the OEDN community is provided by a co-operative effort of the major U.S. cable television MSO (multiple system operator) member/sponsor companies - in affliation with ITV vendors, academic researchers, programming networks, advertisers and independent developers.

Registered members are trusted to understand how to post appropriately when commenting on content, or replying to forums, etc. In addition to trust, each group has a group leader, who governs the group activities. These leaders are empowered to control activities and members within their groups.

The site also uses a voting mechanism to help make more relevant content visible to the greater community, while creating a meritocratic structure of the members (this means, people who provide more relevant contributions are recognized for their merit).
