OEDN Academic Software Kit workshop - In Progress
This week Shawn Van Every of NYU’s Interactive Telecommunication Program (ITP) has pulled a small group of students together to look at tru2way (OCAP) and EBIF.

The 3-day intensive workshop began on Tuesday, July 7 with an overview of What is Interactive Television, the history and examples representing the current state of the industry. After a review of EBIF capabilities, they've begun setting up a development environment with the TVWorks XDK, a free software development kit for creating interactive TV applications for digital cable.
Today the workshop explored on OCAP. And tomorrow special guests Vipul Patel and Scott Miller, from Time Warner Cable's Advanced Technology Group, will be covering a number of addition topics including:
1) EBIF Platform Architecture and connecting to the Web
2) Prototypes/Examples of various types of ITV/ETV applications
3) Some thoughts and overview of ongoing work for future specs
4) Input/tips and other considerations for developing ITV applications (EBIF/OCAP)
5) Comparison with other similar technologies. EBIF vs. OCAP
6) Interactive Q&A
Looking forward to hearing your insights and sharing future updates from the workshop.
